A comedy film 'Baby Mama' is the number one movie in this week box office chart. Starring by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. 'Baby Mama' is the first film directed by Michael McCullers. The plot... A single businesswoman who dreams of having a baby finds she is infertile and hires a working class woman to be her unlikely surrogate. 'Baby Mama' reached more than 18 million dollars in 3 days.

'Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay' in second position with more than 14 million dollars also in 3 days showing. Still starring by John Cho and Kal Penn (the crazy-duo from White Castle). The duo writer from White Castle (Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg) are directing this movie. The plot.. Follows the cross-country adventures of the pot-smoking duo as they try to outrun authorities who suspect them of being terrorists when they try to sneak a bong on board their flight to Amsterdam.

The number one movie last week 'The Forbidden Kingdom' in third position. Chan and Li reached more than 11 million dollars (41 million dollars from all over the world).

Until late April 2008... Only one movie in America can reached over 100 million dollars. The animation movie 'Horton Hears a Who!' reached 145 million dollars in its first 40 days showing. Horton also reached almost 119 million dollars from overseas (outside America). And Horton's worldwide grosses is 264 million dollars. Big names in comedy like Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell are giving the big contributions for this success.

10,000 B.C., a prehistoric epic movie reached 162 M just from overseas. And make it the most successful movie outside America. Its worldwide grosses is 255 M dollars. There are no big names in this movie, and that makes the big earning more phenomenal.

Jumper, a sci-fi movie starring by Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson reached 139 million dollars from overseas with total 218 million dollars worldwide grosses.

Reading Now: Magyk

After finishing the last episode of Harry Potter series, now I am reading another fantasy novel. Septimus Heap: Magyk-Book One (from total 4 books: Flyte, Physik and Queste) by Angie Sage (a British novelist once again). This book is a Christmas gift from my lovely wife.

The plot introduction...
A newborn baby girl found in the snow, the Queen reported died, The ExtraOrdinary Wizard disappeared in mysterious way. All that happened on the night when Septimus Heap was born and pronounced dead.

That cases started revealed ten years later when DomDaniel planned to killing Heap's family...

Just Seen: The Forbidden Kingdom

Finally, the first movie where two of the biggest martial-arts actors are starring together is released! Jackie Chan and Jet Li meet in The Forbidden Kingdom directed by Rob Minkoff (Stuart Little). Drunken Immortal (Jackie Chan) and Silent Monk (Jet Li) are working together to help a kid named Jason (Michael Angarano) to give back an ancient staff belonged to Monkey King (also played by Jet Li). Monkey King was deceived and turned into stone by Jade Warlord (Collin Chou) in a duel.

The plot is simple but very entertaining and funny. We can also see some beautiful scenes. And the duel of Chan and Li in the temple inside the jungle must be the most-awaited scene by the martial-arts film fans all around the world. Amazing! The opening credit with classic Kung Fu film posters as backgrounds also very attractive. In one word... COOL!!! (7/10)

Reading Now: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Right now, I am reading the last episode of a J.K. Rowling's masterpiece, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This is the longest Harry Potter novel I've ever read. From the moment I started reading until now it took almost 5 months. Coz I was busy preparing for my big day and the book is also very thick (1000 pages in Indonesian).

I really like 'the Battle of Hogwarts' chapter. What a battle! When it is filmed by David Yates (director of Harry Potter's film from the Order of Phoenix), the Battle of Hogwarts segment will be the most memorable battle in movies history. I'm sure Yates is capable to do it.

Can't wait 'til 2011!
